Culture Village is a multi-purpose development project in the United Arab Emirates, located along the shoreline of the Dubai creek on a 40,000,000-square-foot (3,700,000 m2) plot of land. When completed the village will include a harbor, cultural and exhibition centres, and dockside development. The centrepiece of this project is Palazzo Versace Dubai, the world's second after Palazzo Versace of Queensland, Australia.
Culture Village is a luxury master development by Dubai Properties on a 3.7 million m2 land parcel located on the Deira Creek. The project was announced in 2006 and two landmark projects were launched in the community that are (as of Q1 2014) still under-construction: The Palazzo Versace and and D1 Tower.
The aim of Culture Village was/is to focus on cultural activities which are yet to take shape. The idea is to develop cultural institutions such as schools, academies for art, music, dance, pottery and other crafts. Surrounding the cultural aspect are residential, commercial, retail and hospitality districts.
Culture Village is now in a state of revival with developers keen to launch projects in this prime land which is close to Dubai Festival City, the new Airport and close to both 'old' and 'new' Dubai. The area is well connected to all parts of the city as it lies in between two major road networks (Sheikh Zayed Road & Al Khail Road).
